The benefits of nature are well established. Trees, light, birds, flowers, colours \u2013 all these elements combine to offer walkers a range of positive sensations and emotions.<\/p>\n

Based on this observation, the Federation of Natural Parks of Wallonia<\/a> launched the Natur\u2019Accessible project in 2018, with the aim of making nature accessible to all.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

As a result, nine trails spread across Wallonia’s nature parks and located exclusively in Natura 2000 areas have been developed for people with specific needs. In these protected areas, which are home to a wealth of biodiversity, walkers of all kinds can stroll, stop and enjoy a moment of peace and relaxation. The trails have been developed and now feature adapted information panels and modules, as well as attractive rest areas.<\/p>\n

Some examples of the facilities are highlighted below (this list is not exhaustive). Click on the location of your choice to see the full list.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Parc naturel de la Vall\u00e9e de l’Attert <\/a>: A straight walk (no chance of getting lost) with an \u2018you are here\u2019 sign on each information board.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sentier de la Trientale (Parc naturel Hautes Fagnes-Eifel) <\/a>: Car park with disabled parking spaces and adapted picnic table.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sentier des chauves-souris (Parc naturel de Gaume) <\/a>: Map of the adapted route and handrails on slopes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Domaine de B\u00e9rinzenne (Parc naturel des Sources) <\/a>: Information panels providing details about the surrounding nature and a bench at each module.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Balade du Mont-de-l’Enclus (Parc naturel du Pays des Collines) <\/a>: Educational areas along the walk with benches and information panels, and handrails where the path is steep.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sentier didactique du Bois de la Fontaine (Parc naturel des deux Ourthes) <\/a>: Car park with picnic table and map at the park entrance.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sentier transfrontalier de Najauge (Parc naturel Viroin-Hermeton) <\/a>: Car park less than 200 m from the start of the trail and information board in Braille and relief.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Au fil de la Mehaigne (Parc naturel Burdinale-Mehaigne) <\/a>: Numerous benches are available, along with educational and recreational panels and modules.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Le circuit Natur’Accessible de Bon-Secours (Parc naturel des Plaines de l’Escaut) <\/a>: 2 reserved parking spaces for people with reduced mobility on a dedicated site, with signs and 4 visual information panels providing information about the forest and its wildlife.<\/p>\n
