Halle al'Chair

The Tourist Office welcomes you to the ‘Halle al'Chair’, a historic building dating from the 16th century, which has been completely renovated and refurbished.

Visit Namur is happy to provide you with all the tourist information you need about Namur. There's also a souvenir shop selling a wide range of local objects, local produce, books and maps. 

The Tourist Office is open 7 days a week, in a setting where tradition and modernity blend harmoniously :

  • Open Monday to Sunday, 9:30 to 18:00
  • In winter : open on Sundays and public holidays, from 11am to 3pm
  • The main function of the building is on the ground floor (the Tourist Office), and it is this part of the building that is included in this audit. Some activities may take place on different floors, but you will always be accompanied by a guide.
  • All levels are accessible by lift or passenger lift.
  • There is an adapted toilet on the ground floor. Staff are aware of the issues and are available to help if required.

  • There is no car park for the building, but there are two PRM parking spaces (end-to-end spaces) in the street, and a public car park (Interparking Namur - Parking Confluence, Rue du Grognon 2, 5000 Namur) is 190 m away and has PRM parking spaces.
  • On the ground floor, there is a passenger lift to avoid the two steps at the entrance, as well as a lift to access the different levels of the building.

  • The staircases are not secure.
  • On the ground floor, part of the area around the staircase at the entrance is dangerous : there is an unsecured gap of 30 cm. 
  • The handrail on the two steps at the entrance does not extend beyond the bottom. 

If you are planning to carry out an activity on the -1 or 2nd floor :  

  • Room at -1 : there is a vaulted space at a height of 196 cm, and access to the WC at -1 is after a vaulted space 181 cm high. 
  • Room +2 : there are structural elements that cannot be removed with a cane.

  • Underfloor lighting is dazzling in some places, at the entrance stairs and on the various floors. 

If you are planning an activity on the -1 or 2nd floor :  

  • Room at -1 : there is a vaulted space at a height of 196 cm, and access to the WC at -1 is after a vaulted space 181 cm high. 
  • Room +2 : there are non-contrasting structural elements.
  • There is no glazing on some of the doors at -1 and on the upper floors.

  • There is no FALC, but staff are aware of this and are available to help.
  • There is a touch screen for information.

Please note that there is no telephone number in the lift in the event of a breakdown. However, the main function of the site is on the ground floor.
