Welcome to Access-i

KBR Museum

The KBR museum is a museum of the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR).

The collection includes numerous manuscripts from the Library of the Dukes of Burgundy, created by Philip II of Burgundy.

The first level of the museum presents the different stages in the production of a manuscript: preparation of the support, work of the copyist, illumination and binding.

The tour has been specially designed to appeal to all the senses: auditory, visual, sensory, etc.

At the entrance, you will be given a digital bracelet to increase interaction with the museum's content. Three different levels are available: children's visit, discovery, in-depth.

Information on the manuscripts on display and on their period is available in several languages.

Good to know: Did you know that manuscripts are too fragile to be displayed permanently? To protect them, the museum changes the manuscripts twice a year.

Admission is free for disabled visitors (+ 1 accompanying person).
