Welcome to Access-i

Maison Losseau

In the centre of Mons, the Maison Losseau, a jewel of art nouveau, has undergone major restoration and enhancement work. The house, as well as the adjacent buildings, are now open to the public. In the heart of this furnished house, classified as an exceptional heritage site in Wallonia, with which the famous architects Paul Saintenoy, Henri Sauvage and Charles Sarrazin are associated, the floral decorations are delicately displayed in mosaics, panelling, stained glass windows, inlaid parquet floors, cupboards, chandeliers and various objects.

In addition to the listed house, which the lawyer Léon Losseau designed as "ideal, equipped with all the technical improvements and artistic refinements", the Province of Hainaut and the Losseau Foundation open the doors of an Interpretation Centre whose scenography, the Province of Hainaut and the Losseau Foundation are opening the doors of an Interpretation Centre whose scenography, reminiscent of the world of the library and the cabinet of curiosities, allows you to approach Losseau's preoccupations and passions, the Art Nouveau he loved, his magnificent collection of medals and the episode of the discovery of the first edition of Rimbaud's A Season in Hell.
