Mémorial Bataille de Waterloo 1815

The Memorial to the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 is a unique site in Belgium which is both a memorial and a historical museum. It is also and above all a place full of history.

The Memorial Museum: relive the history of the battle through uniforms, historical objects, animated maps, an original 3D film...

The Panorama: discover the immense historical canvas of the Panorama, 110 metres long and 12 metres high!

New VIZIT tour application: In the Museum, the tour application allows virtual access to contents that would not be accessible to PRM.  In fact, we have created a replica of the 1912 Panorama painting. Placed at a height accessible to PRMs, this fresco represents the canvas in its entirety.

Reproduced at a scale of 1/32, the Panorama canvas is displayed in a large format. More than 40 points of interest are marked on the canvas. By scanning a marker on the canvas, visitors can obtain historical information about the people or places of the battle.

  • Drop-off point right in front of the long ramp
  • To get to the main entrance of the museum, you have to go up a long ramp (5% on 57m)
  • An alternative entrance is possible via the PANORAMA building, where you can call on the staff, who will bring you in via a lift.
  • Part of the exhibition is not accessible via the lift, but only via ramps (+/-9% over 8m)
  • The panorama is only accessible via a staircase (no lift): however, a complete reproduction has been made on the ground floor to give wheelchair users access to the contents.
