Welcome to Access-i

Royal Uccle Sport

  • For information, this audit was carried out during the day with natural lighting. We cannot therefore guarantee the quality of the artificial lighting or ensure that the lighting conditions are adequate for safe movement around the site in the car parks, access roads and paths around the grounds.

    Identification:

The building is architecturally easy to find, well served by public transport and easily accessible by car.

Public transport: - Bus 50: Uccle sport stop - Tram 32, 82 and 97: Neerstalle stop.
Car: Ring West BXL ->exit n°18 (Drogenbos) ->to Brussels ->at the traffic lights turn left
     ->follow the road.
The club offers lessons, courses and rentals:

For tennis: 10 clay courts and 4 indoor synthetic courts.
For padel: 1 clay court and 2 state-of-the-art grass courts.
    For hockey: 2 grass courts.
    Parking:

The site has 2 free car parks, 75 m from the entrance to the secretariat:

To the right of the entrance is the members' car park, with no space reserved for people with special needs.

To the left is the visitors' car park with 6 reserved spaces marked vertically and on the ground but on a soft surface.

Access from the car park to the site, access to the grounds and the building:

From the car parks, there is direct access to the different pitches via the pathways around the pitches. From the member car parks, the pathway takes the form of an access ramp with a gentle slope not secured by a handrail and a wheelbarrow, the remainder of the pathways offer easy circulation on non-floating surfaces, on the same level and with a width of +- 1.5m but without a rest area. Access to the grounds is on one level.

    Entering:

During the secretariat's opening hours, entry is via a double door without handles, but which is always open and passable by all people with special needs.

    Tuesday 9am-6pm
    Wednesday 12:00-19:00
    Thursday 9am-6pm
    Friday 12:00-19:00
    Saturday 9am-3pm
    Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
There are no facilities at the entrance to announce oneself or to ask for help at the entrance of the site in case the secretariat is closed.

Outside of opening hours, the entrance is only via the terrace of the club house via a staircase with non-contrasting wooden steps which can be slippery and which is not secured by paving stones.

During the opening hours of the secretariat, the reception is on the secretariat level. Access to the indoor courts, changing rooms and toilets is on the same level and under continuous lighting. The club house is accessed by a staircase with a wooden staircase that is not secured by paving stones and has non-contrasting wooden steps. The latter is poorly lit.

    Signage:

There is no signage at the entrance to the site indicating which car parks to use to access the spaces reserved for people with special needs.

There is no signage on the grounds but the layout of the site is easy to understand.

Inside the buildings, it is visible and legible to all. However for the lift, the pictogram is not placed in a good place.

    Facilities:

    Sanitary facilities:

There is a signposted adapted toilet, but the equipment is poorly positioned, so it does not offer the comfort of use.

The changing rooms are not adapted, they are on the same level and have fixed benches with hooks at 1.60m. There is insufficient lighting.

The showers are not adapted, they are on the same level.

All the doors are contrasted and their opening widths allow all people with special needs to pass through them.

    No alarm with flashing light.

No wifi access and no induction loop.

There is an adapted lift and wheelchair users can use it.

    Cafeteria:

The cafeteria and the terrace are level on a non-floating surface, which may be slippery depending on the season for the terrace. The tables are accessible by wheelchair, circulation is easy between the furniture and the lighting is continuous.

This place has a rest area with a cosy atmosphere and a view of the indoor tennis courts that is accessible to wheelchair users. The lighting in this area is not continuous and creates backlighting.

    Miscellaneous :

The staff are not trained to receive people with special needs but are very willing and helpful. They are available to help the customer to sit at the table, choose, serve and pay whatever the situation.
