Circuit vélo - Ligny-Gembloux

Ravel 147 cycle route between Ligny and Gembloux.

Start: old Ligny Sud station (route N273) at the beginning of rue Lucien Ponlot in Ligny.

Arrival: Gembloux station.

Distance: 21.6 km round trip.

"You start your walk from the old station at Ligny Sud, not far from the battlefield where the French Emperor Napoleon I won his last victory.

Just before the village of Sombreffe, sections of track and points laid on sleepers can still be seen for around a hundred metres. These are the last traces of the line's activity. At this point, a railway junction served a grain storage warehouse.

Line 147, laid out almost to the chalk line, then runs all the way to Gembloux, where a beautiful curve takes you to the station car park.
