Tourisme accessible en Wallonie, 10 ans d'évolution !
Walloon tourism moving towards greater inclusion deserves an event ! And what better time to organise it than on 15 October 2024, International White Cane Day ?
The Commissariat général au Tourisme is pleased to invite you to its event, which will feature meetings, personal accounts and some great surprises ! With the aim of highlighting the development and diversification of the accessible offer in 10 years, we promise you a dynamic morning during which you can discover, among other things, the motivation of the operators and players involved.
15/10/24 at La Bourse Conference Centre, Place d'Armes 1, Namur :

In general
Strong points
- The Félicien Rops auditorium offers 300 comfortable tiered seats.
- There is no written programme available ; the event leader is responsible for the morning's proceedings.
- There are two ways to enter the building : either via the main entrance with its 5 steps, or via a ramp (to the left of the main entrance).
- Stewards will be on hand at the entrance to the building to provide information and assistance throughout the event. They will be identifiable by their colourful T-shirts.
- There is free Wi-Fi access on site.
Points of attention
- There are works in Namur, so it may be difficult to park near the building.
- The building can be reached by various means of public transport. Some routes from bus stops are more or less easy.
- The Bourse is open to the public and it is possible to enter and leave the building freely.
People in weelchair
Strong points
- The PRM parking spaces mentioned are located in the Place d'Armes underground car park (accessible via the public lift).
- It is possible to make a one-minute drop-off.
- The surface between the car park and the entrance is flat paving stones.
- There is an alternative entrance to the building. The access ramp on the left side = 7% over 8m60.
- Signs and volunteers will show the way.
- Be careful with the lift to access the auditoriums : the call button is in the corner and therefore not easily accessible.
- The reserved areas in the auditoriums are not all served by a rotation area.
- The PRM toilet is on the ground floor : height of the bowl = 53cm - space available next to the bowl = 110cm x 126cm.
- A PRM public toilet is located outside next to the PRM entrance (a fold-down grab bar is missing).
- Tables will be provided for lunch.
Points of attention
- The auditorium has reserved seats, but they are not easy to see.
- Be careful when accessing the Félicien Rops auditorium on level +1 (to get to the mid-level seats) : the free passage of the door = 82cm !
- Access to the reserved area is not easy.
