Museum Night Fever 2024
For this year's event, Museum Night Fever is continuing its commitment to improving accessibility for all.
In 2022, Access-i carried out an audit of the event and produced a report with recommendations.
This year, the organisers are making progress in implementing the various recommendations :
- All the participating museums have been made aware of accessibility and disability issues ;
- Each museum has completed a self-declaration of its accessibility, and arrangements will be made to improve the accessibility of certain infrastructures ;
- Information on the accessibility of each museum will be posted on the event's website.
A team of disabled-aware accessibility volunteers will be present in each museum to accompany and inform visitors.
Shuttle buses will be available to take visitors between the museums, but this year it has been difficult to ensure that accessible stops are used, due to the large number of works and the use of tram lines.
That's why we've designed an ‘on wheels’ tour, highlighting 6 museums in the city centre. The route can be taken without the shuttle buses. This route has been awarded Access-i certification.
The ‘on wheels’ tour includes the following museums :
- Musée des Instruments de Musique - MIM
- Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée - CBBD
- La Monnaie
- Belgian Beer World Experience
- Les Halles de Saint-Géry
- Archives et Musée de la Vie flamande à Bruxelles - AMVB
La Monnaie and Belgian Beer World Experience are expecting large crowds. Make sure you get there in the early evening for a more comfortable visit.
Still have a question about the accessibility of a museum or activity ? You can get in touch with the museum contacts listed on the accessibility sheets, or with the PRM manager Julie Desbois-Jones by e-mail : julie@brusselsmuseums.be or by telephone 0489 60 05 80.
Were you unable to visit the museum you wanted on the day of the event or under optimum conditions ? Your MNF ticket gives you the opportunity to visit the museum of your choice one month after the event.
Please note that all the accessibility sheets published on the event website have been produced on the basis of information provided by the museums. No Access-i approved auditor has checked the accessibility of the museums taking part in the event on a case-by-case basis.
