Unisound 2024

"Unisound is the biggest French-language festival in Europe dedicated to people with disabilities. As a project for inclusion and awareness-raising, it is open to everyone, whether they have a disability or not. A place where people can meet, share and celebrate, Unisound gives everyone the chance to experience the atmosphere of a festival in an appropriate setting, and to change their outlook on difference. This year it takes place from 30 June to 2 July 2024 at the PAMexpo in Court-Saint-Etienne. On the programme: concerts by Belgian artists, entertainment, workshops and cycle dance demonstrations, all in an accessible setting adapted to the needs of each and every one of us".

Strong points

As in previous years, the organisers of the UNISOUND festival are aiming for a high level of accessibility for every category of PRM.

In addition to the concerts, they will once again be offering activities adapted for everyone: face-painting, karaoke, silent parties, photo booths, adapted swings, wooden games, bouncy castles, cyclodance and includance demos, creative workshops, outdoor games, etc.

Once again this year, the festival will take place over three days, from Sunday 30 June to Tuesday 2 July 2024.

Planned facilities :

A reserved car park staffed by volunteers.
A drop-off zone is provided in front of the entrance. On Sundays, the shopping centre car park in front of the festival entrance is available (there are a few PRM spaces there).
You can get around the festival on your own.
5 wheelchairs available free of charge if required (at reception).
Covered area.
PRM stewards will be on site: over 40 volunteers are identifiable (white T-shirt with orange Unisound logo). Organisers will be identifiable thanks to their brown T-shirt with orange Unisound logo.
Volunteers will be trained to welcome PRMs and to deal with any difficulties that may arise.
A PRM manager will be on hand at all times.
All ticket office/bar/table heights are adapted.
Map, prices and programme in Braille.
A rest area, a nursery area with medical staff (fridge and microwave available - ask at the info stand).
Three PRM toilets on site (2 hard-standing near the stage, 1 cubicle in the infirmary).
Screen with subtitles (all concerts with subtitles) and 3 concerts interpreted in sign language (one per day).
Activities adapted for all types of disability.
Picnics are accepted inside the festival + possibility to mix food.
Adapted food stalls
Payment by cash, card or Payconiq.
Outside drinks are prohibited.
Still water is free at the bar.
Immersion waistcoats are available to feel the vibrations.

Points of attention

There are no campsites this year
No audiodescription service for visual events
No magnetic induction loop, but immersive waistcoats are also used as induction loops.

Reserved parking close to the festival, flat path along the ravel
There will be no difficulty in getting around the site, where all the areas will be accessible and there will be no great distance between the various activities.
More than 40 volunteers will be on hand to help you if you need it.
Adapted activities between concerts.
The height of ticket offices, bars, food stands and tables will be adapted to your needs.
A nursery area with medical staff
Fridge and microwave available > ask at the info stand
Picnics are accepted inside the festival + food can be mixed + straws available
Electric chairs can be recharged > ask at the info stand
Adapted toilets (2 hard-standing toilets near the stage with washbasins, 1 washbasin with hydro-alcoholic gel in the infirmary)
Assistance dogs are accepted and there is a dog bar next to the bar.

Points of attention

If you can't find a space in the car park in front of the PAM (in front of the Action shop and others), please note that the festival car park (behind the Joseph Dewez loop) is made of gravel.
The PRM hard-standing toilets do not have a fixed grab bar on the wall (only a fold-down bar).
There is a cable duct between the control room and the stage on the left-hand side; you must therefore go around the control room to the right to avoid this cable duct.

Strong points

Same adaptations as for wheelchair users. It should be noted that the different areas (concerts and activities) are close together and offer plenty of opportunities to stop off.

Chairs and benches will be available in each area and at the entrance.

Wheelchairs will be available (5 at the entrance).

Points of attention

If you can't find a space in the car park in front of the PAM (in front of the Action shop and others), be careful, the festival car park (behind the Joseph Dewez loop) is made of gravel.
Please note that there is a cable duct between the control room and the stage on the left-hand side; you must therefore go around the control room to the right to avoid this cable duct.

"Par Procuration" on Sunday - "Cool cool chaos" on Monday - "Lucie-Valentine" on Tuesday.
There will be balloons to feel the vibrations of the music (ask at the info stand) and it will be possible to stand close to the loudspeakers.
Clear, uniform signage (with pictograms/images) makes it easy to find your way around a well-defined, safe area.
Screen with subtitles for concerts
A sign language volunteer will be on hand throughout the 3 days if required.

Site on a human scale.
Secure site: the only entrance/exit is supervised by reception staff.
Clear, consistent signage with pictograms/images makes it easy to find your way around a well-defined, secure area.
Pictograms are used to make fares and maps easier to understand.
A team of easily identifiable PRM volunteers will be on hand to welcome visitors and provide assistance if required.
In addition to the concerts, there will be a wide range of adapted activities.
