“You begin your walk at the old Ligny Sud station, not far from the battlefield where the French Emperor, Napoleon I, won his final victory.
Just before the village of Sombreffe, sections of track and points laid on sleepers are still visible for about a hundred metres. These are the last remnants of the line’s former activity. At this point, a railway siding served a grain storage depot.
Line 147, laid out almost in a straight line, then runs on to Gembloux, where a beautiful curve takes you past the station car park.”

Start : former Ligny Sud station (N273 road) at the start of Rue Lucien Ponlot in Ligny.
Finish : Gembloux station.
