IKOB - Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen

Housed in an industrial building in Eupen, in the German-speaking Community of Belgium, close to the German and Dutch borders, the IKOB Museum of Contemporary Art has been focusing on the emerging contemporary art scene for over 30 years. The IKOB organises international temporary exhibitions and showcases regional artists, whilst building up a permanent collection, and has become a key player in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

Practical information:
  • The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 1 pm to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays.

  • Admission is free. The recommended donation is displayed at reception. Free entry for under-18s.

  • The building is clearly signposted from the street, and its entrance is easily identifiable.

  • Free car park (Carrefour supermarket), with several spaces reserved for disabled visitors.

  • Touchscreen payment system (though contactless payment is also possible). Cash payments accepted.

  • The building is on two levels and has a ‘domestic lift’.

  • The exhibitions are temporary. Information leaflets list the artists and the titles of the works.

  • Staff are on hand to assist and provide further explanations about the exhibition’s theme, the artists on display and their works.
