Montaigle Castle

The fortified castle of Montaigle stands on a rocky spur in a romantic setting that will transport you back to the age of knights.

A visit to the ruins of this imposing fortified castle, once the residence of the 14th-century count, and to the archaeological museum, will give you a real window onto an extraordinarily rich medieval world.

After your visit, a path will lead you to discover the local flora and fauna, ideal for a picnic break in the heart of nature.

Don't hesitate to visit the visitor centre to access the site and get all the information you need about the history of the castle.

Practical information :
  • An explanatory leaflet is available from reception.

  • Please note that there are no parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the castle entrance. However, a space reserved for people with reduced mobility can be made available on request.

  • The route to the site is signposted.

  • The walk around the site is mainly on gravel and grass paths.

  • There are some areas that may cause vertigo.
