The Musée Gaumais

The Musée Gaumais, also known as the Musée de la vie gaumaise, is housed in the former Récollets convent, dating from the 17th century, in the heart of Virton.

Opened in 1939 thanks to the vision of Edmond Fouss, it was intended to become a scientific and cultural centre for the Gaume region. Since then, it has evolved considerably, with a modern wing inaugurated in 1992 and a new gallery, the Galerie du Récollet, opened in 2020.
