Aquarium-Muséum Universitaire de Liège

The University Aquarium-Museum of Liège has become a centre of excellence for animal biodiversity and an essential pillar of cultural tourism in Liège. It is recognised as a ‘Category A Museum Institution’ by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and has been awarded the ‘4 Suns Tourist Attraction’ label by the Wallonia Public Service. With a team of around twenty people, offering a wide range of services to all its visitors and constantly developing and improving its temporary and permanent exhibitions, it welcomes an average of 95,000 visitors per year.

The museum has numerous animal collections. The tanks in the Aquarium's Biodiversity Room are like ‘windows onto the aquatic world’ : they offer a glimpse of the astonishing diversity of life that thrives there. During your visit, you will encounter species from the North Sea, the Mediterranean, warm seas, rivers and lakes in temperate or tropical regions.

Practical information :
  • Admission to the Aquarium-Museum also gives visitors access to the House of Science, the Planetarium, and the Botany and Evolution Galleries.

  • A lift has been installed to provide easy access to the TréZOOr.

  • There is a reduced rate for people with reduced mobility and for EDC (European Disability Card) holders.

  • Please note : the Zoology Museum is currently closed to the public for renovations. However, the Aquarium and the TréZOOr Room are still open.
