Château de Seneffe

The Château de Seneffe is a castle built in the 18th century that houses the French Community's silverware museum.

The renovated neoclassical castle was built in the 18th century (from 1763 to 1768) by businessman Julien Depestre based on plans by architect Laurent-Benoit Dewez. After changing hands several times, it fell into the hands of the Belgian State in 1970 and then the Ministry of the French Community of Belgium, which decided to house the museum there.

The French Community of Belgium has added to the collection through purchases and bequests. It is currently one of the largest in Belgium.

Thematic exhibitions are organised on the life and art of the 18th century. Young goldsmiths are regularly given the opportunity to exhibit their work there.

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
