Choco Story Brussels

Support :

The audit and certification project for 11 museums was made possible thanks to the valuable support of the Brussels-Capital Region.

Museum description :

Immerse yourself in the world of cocoa and chocolate, walk through a Mayan temple where beans were consumed 5,000 years ago, and board the ship that brought cocoa beans back to Europe with Cortés. Discover how chocolate was consumed at the French court in the 17th century and how it was shaped into ‘pralines’ in Belgium in the early 20th century.

Practical information :
  • Only the museum has been audited, not the workshop.

  • Reservations are required.

  • Demonstration, tasting and audio guide included in the tour.

  • The museum makes every effort to adapt the tour to different audiences. However, the venue has a number of obstacles.

  • Located in the narrow streets of central Brussels, parking is not easy.

  • As stated on their website, pushchairs and electric wheelchairs are not permitted, as the tour requires the use of three lifting platforms in addition to the existing lift.

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
