Cycling route : Momignies - Chimay

Line 156 of the RAVeL takes you through part of the Hainaut boot.

Throughout the circuit, you can admire rich and varied landscapes. From forests to plains, the route is dotted with educational panels, ponds and sculptures, like an open-air museum.

Practical information :
  • Starting point : Former Momignies station

  • Finishing point : Place des Princes, 6460 Chimay

  • Distance between Momignies and Chimay : 13.3 km

  • As part of the Access-i certification, only the Momignies-Chimay section has been audited. This analysis therefore does not take into account the content of the educational panels, ponds and other attractions along the route.

  • The route is 26.6 km round trip with gentle slopes. It is interrupted by 14 crossings and has 16 rest areas spread evenly along the route.

  • There is a lack of signage to find the RAVeL when arriving in the town of Chimay.

  • There are HoReCa establishments at the start in Chimay and at the finish in Momignies, but we cannot guarantee their accessibility.

  • There are no toilets or adapted toilets along the route.

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
