Le Grand-Hornu

Grand-Hornu is a former mining and industrial site located in Boussu, Belgium. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012, it is now a major cultural centre in Wallonia. Grand-Hornu is home to a museum, a contemporary art centre, a library, concert and theatre halls, and extensive gardens. It is a unique place to discover the industrial history of the region, admire the site's neoclassical architecture and enjoy a rich and varied cultural programme.

Practical information :
  • Only the car park, cafeteria and temporary exhibition hall are included in this audit.

  • There is a 3.5 cm step at the main entrance. A secondary entrance is indicated, directly next to the main entrance.

  • The main entrance door is glazed and contrasting, but a little heavy.

Les Fêtes de Wallonie 2025 à Mons : Balade « Mons Passé Présent »

Street theatre: "Mons Passé Présent", 5 theatre companies from Mons will present 5 unique creations based on an original theme: "50 years of Mons Passé Présent".

The starting point is in front of the Town Hall, taking spectators through the historic centre of the town.

On Friday 19 September, the show will move through the streets from 6.30pm to 9.30pm (last departure).

Saturday 20 September from 4pm to 7pm (last performance).

Sunday 21 September from 3pm to 7pm (last departure).

Duration of the walk: approximately 2 hours over +/- 1 km.
