Maison Losseau

In the center of Mons, the Maison Losseau, a jewel of Art Nouveau architecture, has undergone extensive restoration and enhancement work. The residence, along with the adjacent buildings, is now open to the public. At the heart of this furnished house, listed as an exceptional heritage site in Wallonia and associated with the famous architects Paul Saintenoy, Henri Sauvage, and Charles Sarrazin, floral decorations are delicately displayed in mosaics, paneling, stained glass windows, inlaid parquet floors, cabinets, chandeliers, and various objects.

In addition to the listed house, which lawyer Léon Losseau designed as “ideal, equipped with all the latest technical improvements and artistic refinements,” the Province of Hainaut and the Losseau Foundation welcome you to an Interpretation Center whose scenography, reminiscent of a library and cabinet of curiosities, allows you to explore Losseau's concerns and passions, the Art Nouveau style he loved, his magnificent collection of medals, and the story of his discovery of the original edition of Rimbaud's Une Saison en enfer.

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
