The purpose of the Prehistomuseum :
"The Prehistomuseum exists to enable everyone to experience our humanity through an original and unusual encounter with prehistory and archaeology.’

When you discover the Prehistomuseum, awaken the primitive in you, because we are all homo sapiens !

What is the museum's challenge ? To transport you to another world by offering you a journey through time...

Practical information :

- Please note : only the following activities have been certified and verified (main building and pavilion area on the map) :

  • Permanent exhibition

  • Research centre

  • Experiences

- Neither the restaurant nor the park have been subject to the certification audit.

- You can join a group guided by a mediator (no prior booking required). The mediator will adapt to the needs of the group and provide you with hands-on experiences.

Les Fêtes de Wallonie 2025 à Mons : Balade « Mons Passé Présent »

Street theatre: "Mons Passé Présent", 5 theatre companies from Mons will present 5 unique creations based on an original theme: "50 years of Mons Passé Présent".

The starting point is in front of the Town Hall, taking spectators through the historic centre of the town.

On Friday 19 September, the show will move through the streets from 6.30pm to 9.30pm (last departure).

Saturday 20 September from 4pm to 7pm (last performance).

Sunday 21 September from 3pm to 7pm (last departure).

Duration of the walk: approximately 2 hours over +/- 1 km.
