Sewer Museum

The Brussels Sewer Museum takes you on a journey to discover a hidden, underground side of Brussels.

Would you like to go down into a real sewer ? Then push open the museum door and enter the collector sewer on Chaussée de Mons. This sewer, which is still in use, collects water from secondary pipes. You can also enjoy a walk along the Senne. A unique experience in a unique museum !

On the upper floors of the museum, discover the unusual profession of sewer worker, the methods used to combat flooding and the underground life of the city.

Practical information :
  • The museum consists of two separate buildings : one building with the museum entrance and another building with the museum exit located on the pavement opposite. Please note that the steps to enter and exit the buildings are not secure and are very slippery when wet.

  • The museum is spread over four levels, one of which is underground, along the Senne, connecting the museum's entrance and exit buildings. Most of the visit takes place in the basement and in dark spaces.

  • Some areas are low-ceilinged (approx. 185 cm).

  • The museum entrance is difficult to find.

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
