Train World - Railway Museum

The audit and certification project for 11 museums was made possible thanks to the valuable support of visit.brussels.

Train World is the museum of the Belgian national railway company (SNCB).
It is located next to the current Schaerbeek station, a municipality of Brussels.
It is a very large museum with several rooms displaying old and modern trains, as well as many railway-related objects. The various visual, audio and tactile aids, together with the scenography, allow visitors to experience the development of the railways through the ages. The staff are attentive to the needs of people with disabilities.

Practical information :
  • The staff are not specifically trained to assist people with disabilities, but they are very welcoming and will be happy to help you.

  • As the restaurant was awaiting a new owner at the time of the audit, it was not assessed.

Couvin

Saint Victor Church in Petigny

The Church of Saint Victor in Petigny (Couvin) was rebuilt between 1872 and 1874 in a neo-Romanesque style, based on plans by architect Ladislas Degreny. It consists of three naves and its bell tower was restored in 1939. The interior was redesigned in 1968 by architect René Michaux. Its organ, built around 1890 by Schyven, has recently undergone a participatory restoration.

Today, the church remains a lively place of worship and also hosts cultural activities.
