Bright Brussels Festival 2026

An information point will be set up near Place Royale. It will provide information on all the facilities available on site. In the event of long waiting times, priority access may be arranged.

Disabled parking spaces will be reserved on Place des Palais.

Public disabled parking spaces in the city of Brussels are also available along the route (Indigo “parking royal”, 2 spaces on Rue de la Ligne, 3 spaces on Place du Congrès, 2 spaces on Coudenberg).

Certain streets along the route will be closed to traffic on the day of the event.

Some outdoor routes will be made easier by the installation of carpets, rolling plates and cable grommets.

Signs will indicate alternative routes.

A team of stewards will be present on the circuit to provide information throughout the festival and help you cross the road. These people will be clearly identifiable by their coloured vests.

The festival can be accessed by various means of public transport.

The Parc and De Brouckère metro stations are accessible to people with reduced mobility with assistance. It is possible to reach the facilities by getting off at these stations.

The event takes place in a public space, so it is dependent on the site's flooring and terrain : cobblestones, slopes of 6 to 12% in places, kerbs that are not lowered.

We are not entering any buildings this year, which limits the availability of accessible toilets on the circuit.

The desks at the information points and the bars and food trucks will be too high.

Several cable trays will be in place to power the lighting installations.

Alternative routes are planned at various points along the route to make it accessible to all.

The exit from the Galeries Saint-Hubert is inaccessible to wheelchair users. We suggest turning left onto Rue des Bouchers (halfway along the gallery) to make a loop and rejoin the original route.

Rue d'Assaut, which leads to the Wolf and the square in front of the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula, is very steep. We therefore recommend an alternative route via the metro from the “De Brouckère” stop to “Parc”. Once at the Parc stop, you can return to the Place du Congrès to complete the missed section of the route.

The Galerie Bortier is inaccessible (steps) via Rue Saint-Jean, but with assistance, it is possible to enter partially from Rue de la Madeleine.

Please note : some signs will be attached to the Nadar barriers. Depending on the number of visitors, you may not be able to see the arrows.

The total route is approximately 6 km long.

Many crossings will be equipped with facilities or assistance, and the route is mostly downhill.

It will be very difficult for a blind person travelling alone to find their way around the circuit.

Not all stairs are secured with tactile paving.

No content is adapted with audio description.

All installations are visual (projections, works to be observed but not touched, etc.).

There are no plans to provide descriptions of the installations in Braille.

There are likely to be obstacles along the facades (e.g. market stalls).
