Florennes swimming pool

Designed in the 1970s, the Florennes swimming pool underwent extensive renovation as part of the Walloon Region's ‘Swimming Pool Plan’. It reopened in March 2023. During the renovation work, every effort was made to ensure that the pool is as accessible as possible to people with disabilities.

It is open to the public every day outside school hours and has a 25-metre approved pool and a separate paddling pool for younger children.

Practical information :
  • The entrance to the swimming pool is not visible. When you are in the general car park of the sports centre, follow the road and go down to the back of the building, where two parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities are available near the entrance.

  • It is possible to swim in a separate lane upon reservation and during certain less busy times. Call 071 68 92 68 to make a reservation.

  • You must remove your shoes before entering the changing room corridor : benches and a shelf are available.

  • The lockers operate with a centralised locking system, which is very easy to use with a wristband ! Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance if you have difficulty using the keypad.

  • Please note that after the footbath (at ground level), there are automatic showers ! You can ask to have them deactivated.

Fry Museum Brussels

The Musée de la Frite, situated in the very heart of Brussels, just a stone’s throw from the Manneken-Pis, is a unique venue entirely dedicated to one of Belgium’s greatest symbols: the chip. Spanning three floors and over 900 m² of exhibition space, it offers a fun, interactive and gourmet journey through the fascinating history of the potato and the famous Belgian chip.

Through modern exhibitions, historical artefacts, films, interactive quizzes and an audio guide available in 11 languages, visitors discover the origins of the potato, its arrival in Europe, the evolution of the chip over the centuries, and the secrets to cooking it to perfection according to Belgian tradition: the famous double-frying method.

The museum also highlights the unique place of chip shops in Belgian culture, as true popular and convivial institutions. The visit concludes with a demonstration of traditional cooking techniques and, of course, a tasting of a cone of authentic Belgian chips – included in the admission price – with a choice of several sauces.

Open daily from 10am to 6pm, the museum offers an experience that is at once educational, delicious and entertaining, ideal for families, tourists and all lovers of Belgium’s culinary heritage.
